ANNIE
(1986)
“This is the one that will send you away humming and thinking about the human heart” wrote one of the three local newspaper critics who wrote reviews of this production. “Annie” was a delight....a production that included many moments when your heart is on a string and your hopes and disappointments are tied to those of the characters..... all sorts of dreams come true in this production. This show was another production in which the SSHS extended family (i.e. students, teachers, parents, and community members worked together to create theatre magic). The actor whose words warned us never to work with animals and children, didn’t see what the SSHS Drama group achieved...the children in the show were wonderful and our canine actor, Cyka, that played ‘Sandy’ never barked out of turn, only watched for his (her) cues and performed admirably. The SSHS Drama Club had bounced back admirably after the negativity of the reviews for “The Sound Of Music”.
Andrea, our daughter, was in the cast for this production and she gave me another reason to take great pride in the show. Andrea was the third of our children to be a cast member of one of my musical productions. She played the part of Molly.
