CHASE ME COMRADE
(1975-76)

Following my three years in England, my family returned to St. Stephen. I resumed working at SSHS. The Drama Club chose another British farce for production....”Chase Me Comrade”.... this one even more challenging than “See How They Run”. The fast pace, physical humour and the famous chase scene sequence provided challenges that the cast dealt with admirably. Our successful tour of 1972, gave the cast a taste for life “on the road” so we accepted an invitation to go on the road again. It became yet another successful tour.
During one performance, a certain actress picked up on the “wrong” cue of two very similar cues. She delivered her next line some 10 pages further on in the script leaving the cast on stage petrified, the actor waiting to “knock on the door” for a stage entrance mouthing “how am I gonna’ get onstage?” and our prompter frantically trying to find out where they were in the script and having a panic attack at the same time. A friend of mine who was in the audience said “I didn’t notice anything wrong!”.....so much for continuity.
