SOUTH PACIFIC (2003)
“South Pacific” was another Rodgers and Hammerstein classic musical that saw YMT continue its successful ways. Our cast and crew, as I had come to expect, gave another solid series of performances as they made their way through the rigours of a performance week. The scenery took on another level...this time we created a multi level set based on a tropical island theme. We used our “lower level” stage extension then the “regular” stage and added an additional series of gradually rising upper levels to create the illusion of the beach. One of our audience wrote: “thanks to everyone behind the scenes, the entire cast and orchestra for a wonderful evening”.
Anecdote: Yar Recned appeared as a nun in this production...... truly an actor with a bad habit !
