PURLEY HIGH SCHOOL FOR BOYS
I taught at Purley High School For Boys in Old Coulsdon, England for three years (1972 - 1975). I Directed three Gilbert & Sullivan operettas and co-directed three “Sports Concerts” as they were traditionally known. The “Sports Concerts” had evolved into a variety type production that featured music, dance, comedy sketches, and a teaching staff production number. Young ladies from the neighbouring Purley School For Girls participated in both the G&S operettas and Sports Concerts. The shows were accompanied by a strong Orchestra under the direction of Mr. Alan Crosskey.
